AC at the farm

Chris and I took AC and Piper down to the farm today. Philip, Buster and Mac were down there (Kayla was out of town :( ) so we figured we'd take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL day and hang out with them!

One of the 2 cranes (there were also 2 blue herons!!)

We picked up fried chicken for lunch and Shage (and his dog Heidi) met us at the boat house for a little lunch.

After lunch we went for a boat ride - it was AC's VERY FIRST time on a boat!! She LOVED it (to say the least). She even loved her life vest!! She definitely takes after Chris.

AC watching Chris and Shage get the boat ready

Check out my life vest!! Uncle Philip cracked up when he saw this... he said it's the girliest life vest he's ever seen!!! (jackpot! hehe)

She had this grin on her face pretty much the whole time!!

Philip and Buster canoed

Mac went for a swim

After the boat ride we went on a little stroll around the property so Chris could get his deer stands down. Uncle Philip took AC off roading in the jogging stroller - and I think they both liked it equally ;)

We had a blast and the weather was perfect! We missed Kayla so we will just have to plan another trip soon! And I think it's safe to say everyone in this photo will sleep VERY well tonight!!!

The escape artist

First off - Happy 18months to our sweet little girl!! Man - already half way to her next birthday??? Seriously- WHERE does the time go??????

Yesterday I laid AC down for a nap (well, I knew she wouldn't sleep, but just a little detox). She played, and sang, and talked... then I her her say "Uh Oh! Baby Go!!" I flipped on the monitor and she was looking over the side of the crib where apparently she had dropped Baby Go. I was in the process of painting her playroom so I tried to get to a stopping point. She started crying for Baby Go and I was at a good point to stop so I started wrapping up my brushes. Flipped on the monitor and she was still looking over the edge of the crib and whining for Baby Go. Washed my hands, walked into her room and OMG - THERE SHE WAS!!! Standing in her room outside the crib (holding Baby Go of course)!!! I have no idea how she did it - I didn't hear any SCREAMS (just the whiny cry for baby go) so I don't think she fell out... but she's NOT a climber so I don't know how she could have climbed out.....I'm seriously perplexed!!!

Anyway - I loved on her and checked her over to make sure she was ok. She didin't seemed phased in the least that she got out of her crib on her own... as long as she had Baby Go hahaha.

So that was fun.

As I said - I'm working on her play room. I had NO idea how much she loved it in there. The past week or so she has been banging on the gate downstairs and saying "Pay - go pay" ("pay" is "play") so we will go upstairs and she will just play her little heart out. It didn't even occur to me though that if we didn't go up for a few days she would notice! Oh boy has she ever. She has been begging, banging on the door, screaming to go play in the play room. Unfortunately ALL of her toys are in my office (should I say crammed in my office) and the room is in a complete state of disarray. I'm finishing up the painting and book cases today so hopefully we can at least get it back together for her tonight to resume play. The rest will just have to come in pieces.

AC was DYING to "pay" so I let her play in the office.... see how crammed we are in here??

She is still doing great at telling us when she has to pee or poop - usually only once or twice a day -but she recognizes when she's about to go. We still haven't started the official potty training yet. I may wait a few more months or until after the beach... haven't decided yet. Today I had to take some pics of her on the potty (G-rated of course) because she is SO funny when she is on there. She sings and talks and plays peek-a-boo, and eats.... This is her singing itsy bitsy spider and eating a snack hahaha

She is talking non stop... copies EVERYTHING we say. I don't even keep up with how many words or what words she says any more because she literally will repeat pretty much anything we say. Sometimes we have to figure out what she is saying, but once we get it we work with her to say it more clearly. Other stuff (like Oko, Baby Go, Ma-na-ma-na, Mocha-mo) we liked so much we say it. I even write "Oko" on the grocery list for yogurt hahahha.

She has picked up the first 2 lines of twinkle twinkle little star but only sings it in her bed in the morning so I haven't gotten a video yet - but still amazed at how in tune she is when she sings her string of "words" that sound like the song ahaha.

I think that's all for now. I'll keep you posted on the playroom!!

Tea for two... or...

Maybe just two cups for one ;)

Thought that was a cute pic of AC in her playroom. I'm in the middle of some major playroom changes but I'm super motivated so hopefully I can have them done by the end of Jan. That's my goal anyway!!

I've also been working on a "challenge" the past week. It's called Project 365 and the goal is to take one photo a day for an entire year. I didn't start until Jan 11th so I'm missing a few days worth of photos (some I just back blogged) but you can check it out here: http://canisurvive365.blogspot.com/

AC has just been a riot lately. She loves making faces at me and in the mirror. She is VERY vocal and will pretty much ask for whatever she wants now. Sometimes I have to figure out what she wants, but if I say "show me" she will walk over and point to what she wants.

She's finally eating something other than cheese, peas, carrots, grapes, oranges, peaches and her usual foods.... she likes mashed potatoes and avocado. Still working on meats... she did eat a little ham the other day. Not really enough to count.

Speaking of counting - AC is picking up on the order of numbers!! When I count something I'll say "One..." and she will chime in with "Due" (two). Then I'll say "Three, Four, Five..." and she will say "Ix" (six)... then I say "Seven..." and she says "Eight... "(I repeat Eight) then she says "Nine"... or if I ask her to count she will say "due, fib, ix, nine" (she picks up the five and drops the eight ahhaha)

She also knows "Um-min-nim-ma-pe" (L,M,N,O,P) and "Y and Z" when it comes time to sing them.

She's getting really good with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (well just the Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky part) Slowly picking up more of the sounds of the words instead of just a mumbo-jumbo of words that are in tune haha.

Anyway - that's pretty much all I have for now....

Elmo teaches AC a song...

Yes, Elmo taught Anna Claire a song. Happy Birthday. It's not like she's never heard it before - but ever since she got Chris the birthday card that has Elmo singing in it - she has played it at least 15 times a day.

Today I heard lots of singing in her monitor when she was supposed to be napping. When I went to go listen closer it sounded an awful lot like Happy Birthday. I couldn't help but to bust in and take a video. Yup - Happy Birthday. So I sang it to her a few times adding in "Happy Birthday to Anna" and she immediately picked up on her name and started throwing it in there herself!!

I went to get the Elmo card (per her request) and got this little video. Pardon the quality - both my video camera and my other camera that takes video were completely DEAD.. so this is with my phone.

And since I wont be able to print video when I print this blog - the song goes a little like this...

"HA-BE ya ya you you.. Ha-be ya you An-na..." (then repeat over and over and over again) I know I say it all the time but I just love this little girl!!!!

Oh and because it may not make it's own post - AC has picked up 3 new phrases that she says.
"Watch Out", "Back Up" and "No Ma'am" Three things I say to her a LOT - especially when I'm cleaning and she is following me every step I take (like today) hahaha

Snow/Ice in GA

We've had a very icy few days here in GA. Loganville and Lavonia got about 8" of snow... Newnan on the other hand had about 1/2" if solid ICE. Chris went to the grocery store to load up on food before the big storm came - so the past 3 days we've just been inside eating.. non stop :)

I didn't even attempt to take AC out in it since she seems to hate it so bad - well, that was - until today. She woke up from a nap in a great mood so I figured I'd try one more time.

She LOVED it. It was pretty much all slush when we got out there, but she walked and walked and walked and RAN and then walked some more. She finally stepped in a huge mud/slush hole and got upset because her pant leg got wet so we called it a day and went inside.

I couldn't even get a good pic of her because she was on the move NON STOP and she wouldn't stop even a second to look up at me.

Sesame Street Love (and walking backwards)

She loves it. Elmo especially... and now Abby (Abby Cadabby).

Today I was looking up something and there was a TINY picture of Elmo and she shrieked EH-MO!!!! So I googled "Elmos World" and just found a whole plethora of videos on the Sesame Street website. After being engrossed in an Elmo video - I found one that had Elmo and a cute little pink fairy character named Abby Cadabby. She immediately took to Abby too. I said "that's Abby" once and she immediately would point to her every time she came on the screen saying ABBY!!!

Here is a little video of her pointing out Abby and Elmo.

Oh and before I forget... Anna's new thing is walking backwards. She loves to walk backwards and thinks she's the funniest thing when she does it. I'll try to get a video but she will literally walk across the entire room backwards. She cracks me up!

Happy Birthday Hubby

Today is Chris's 33rd birthday!!! Unfortunately Chris had to work and we didn't really do anything big to celebrate. I made him dinner and got a couple slices of cake... but since he had to work today and go in early tomorrow we just kinda hung out.

AC and I did go to Target for a few things - one of which was a card. I found one for me to give him, but was looking for one for AC to give him. Anna was in the shopping cart and I kept hearing her say "Eh-mo, Eh-mo.... Piper... Eh-mo". I look over and she's pointing at a card that had Elmo on it (and the one next to it had a dog that looked like Piper haha). Today was really the first time that we pointed to Elmo and said "Elmo" to her... but she obviously likes the red furry guy... because when I started pushing her away from the Elmo card she started fussing. So we went back and I picked up the card and she shreeked EH-MO!!!! So we got the card for her to give to Chris. Even better - when you open it up you can push a button it has Elmo singing Happy Birthday. And she pushed it, and pushed it, and pushed it... over and over and over again. I literally had to pry it out of her hands to put her in the car seat hahhaa.

Also have to mention - today is also Granny's birthday. She was always so good about calling Chris on his birthday. I still have the message saved on my answering machine from two years ago - only one month before she passed away where she was calling Chris to wish him a happy birthday. I miss her so bad and hope she's having a great birthday in Heaven.

Happy Birthday to two of my favorite people!!! Love you both!

Happy New Year

Well - we couldn't get our act together to send out a Christmas Card... nor could we get it together to send out a New Years card... so just enjoy this until we find a holiday we CAN send out a card for.
