1 month check-up

Anna just went for her 1 month check up... well actually she was 5 weeks old, but that's besides the point. Dr. Carter said she looked great! She had gained 3 lbs and now weighs 10lbs 8oz! Pleasantly plump!

Weight: 10lbs 8oz (90%)
Height: 21.5" (75%)
Head Circumference: 37cm

Next appointment we start with the vaccinations :( We are not too excited about that, but guess we dont have too much of a choice.

Anna did great! She really likes Dr. Carter!

1st BIG trip!

Anna went on her 1st big trip to see Nana and Papa in Tryon, NC this weekend. We drove up to see Aunt Caron, Uncle Michael and cousins Allie and Wyatt first. We went to Pizza Shack for lunch and devoured some chocolate chip pizza!! Wait, I mean salad. Yeah, salad....

When we got back Aunt Caron took some 1month pics of Anna. She did great and slept a good portion of the time. Piper even decided to get in on the action and we got a few pics of her too!!

When Chris was done playing golf with Michael we headed to Tryon and Anna slept the entire way. Phil and Marcia were SO happy to see her. Philip and Kayla even made it up, so it was one big Burrus family affair!

One night for dinner Anna started getting a little fussy, and Uncle Philip played her a song on the piano - she LOVED it and fell right to sleep. It was so sweet!

We had a great trip and look forward to many, many more!! Here are a few pics fro the trip.

1st Bath

Anna's little belly button stump fell off yesterday. It was getting close and when I went to change her diaper I noticed it was GONE!! Gross question is... where did it go? Well, not to make you cringe - but I found it on the den floor. And even nastier... I thought it was a piece of brownie, so I picked it up and said "what is this??", thought it was a raisin on 2nd look, then realized what it REALLY was...

So how did that lunch taste the 2nd time around?? Sorry about that.

Anyway, since it fell off we could FINALLY give her a real bath. She LOVED it!!!! Thanks Femy for the little bather :) Wish they made these for adults, I HATE the feel of the hard bathtub floor...

Walking with the Annas

Staci and I took our Annas (aka "The Annas" aka "Anna Kay and Anna Claire") out for a walk today. We walked 3 miles in Summergrove - gotta get off this baby weight. Nice therapy walk for the brain too!!

1st laugh - in her sleep :)

Mom came down to stay with us for a week. We stopped at Pizza Hut to get a pizza and when mom and Chris were inside - Anna LAUGHED in her sleep! I mean it was an actual laugh. What in the world could she be dreaming about???

Anna's 1st errands

Caron and I took Anna out to run a few errands today. It was her 1st official trip out (other than the doctor) and where else should a baby go on their first trip other than WALMART?! She was so good and slept the entire time. We made it to TJMaxx, Ross and Babies R Us and she just kept sleeping!

I was glad Caron came with us - I was nervous about taking her out. Wasn't too sure about the whole carseat/bucket thing and how to put them in the shopping cart. I know - silly thing to worry about.
